Falsificationism, as opposed to verificationism, claims that the main activity of a researcher is to invalidate a theory by observation or experiment. WebWithin the philosophy of science, four main theories about the nature of science are historically recognized: inductivism, falsificationism, Kuhnian paradigms, and research programmes. If evidence-based medicine is science, knowledge claims should be derived using a process that corresponds to one of these theories.
