Websnaynay • 5 yr. ago. They only need a battery. Fishman use a push-pull pot for the switching, but anyone who can work out basic guitar electronics could put that on a switch or whatever. The only difference is you need 25K pots and a 9V battery, which could be a classic off-the-shelf square battery. It's based on the JB on its "hot rod" voicing, though I would say the Fishman version is tighter and better for metal. Fishman have other pickups like the Killswitch Engage set as well. The modern set is really the least versatile one they make.
