It sounds like you are creating a stamp from an existing PDF that contains form fields. Is this correct? Acrobat removes any existing form fields when it creates the stamp file. Very frustrating. The only option to edit xfa forms with it is to extract the xfa xml from the pdf (pdfbox offers a method to do so), edit the xml manually, and store it again in the pdf.
